Prince Harry will want to return to the US "as soon as possible" and it could be mere hours before he is back home in California after the King's Coronation, it is claimed.
The Duke of Sussex confirmed he will attend the ceremony at Westminster Abbey on May 6 without Meghan as she will remain at their home in Montecito, California, US, with their two children Archie and Lilibet.
But with the day of the coronation also coinciding with Archie’s fourth birthday, sources believe it has placed more pressure on Harry to return back to LA “sooner rather than later”. Their home in California is eight hours behind the UK.
An insider raised the prospect of Harry returning to the US “hours” after the coronation.
The source told The Mirror: “As Harry is no longer a senior royal, he will not appear on the balcony with the others.
“He is a dedicated family man and will want to be back with his children as soon as possible.
“It will be a flying visit. It could even be hours after Charles is crowned that Harry will return home to his family.”
Close friend Omid Scobie revealed it "played a factor in the couple's decision" with the visit said to be a "fairly quick trip to the UK' for Harry as the Coronation will only be a couple of hours.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman revealed earlier today Harry would attend the coronation alone.
The statement read: "Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet."
With Prince Harry wanting to return "hours" after the ceremony it means he will be able to get back into the children's routine.
Meghan, 41, has previously spoken about the routine she and Harry, 38, have for Prince Archie, three, and Princess Lilibet, one.
A source told The Mirror: “Harry and Meghan are well known for their bedtime routine with the kids.
“They have spoken about it in the past.
“But if Archie and Lilibet are to see their grandfather crowned, they will need to be woken in the still of the night.
“Many here are wondering if the children will see it live.”
Charles’s coronation service will begin at 11am in the UK - 3am in California.
The Duchess of Sussex previously revealed details about the couple’s bedtime routine.
She told Vanity Fair: “Once we have the kids to bed and have played a little Wordle, or [I have] done my ten minutes of DuoLingo… after these two things, if we turn on the TV, which is fairly rare, we are like most people with endless, endless, endless searching until you get so tired of searching you end up not watching anything,” she shared.
In her Spotify podcast, she then told of the Sussex’s breakfast routine.
She revealed: “So the morning rush, I’m sure it’ll only get more chaotic as they get older.
“But for me, it’s, you know, both monitors on for the kids to hear them, always up with Lily, get her downstairs, then a half hour later Archie’s up.”
She went on to say she “start[s] doing his lunch box right before he’s up while I have her, getting her a little nibble, my husband’s help me get him downstairs.”
Meghan added: “I make breakfast for all three of them. It’s very important to me. I love doing it. For me, it just feels like the greatest way to start the morning.”
Millions worldwide are expected to tune in for the event, with the ‘King Procession’ leaving Buckingham Palace some 30 minutes before the ceremony’s start time.
