Prince Harry is set to give an exclusive interview ahead of his bombshell memoirs released next month.
The Duke of Sussex is reportedly gearing up for a sit-down interview with ITV journalist Tom Bradby ahead of the release of Spare on January 10, 2023. The memoir will be ghost-written by JR Moehringer, and is expected to be more damaging for the royal family than Harry and Meghan Markle's Netflix series, according to the Express.
The title likely refers to "the heir and the spare", a moniker commonly used to describe Harry and his brother. Spare is expected to detail his life as a member of the Royal Family, dealing with the death of his mother, Princess Diana, as well as his relationship with Meghan and raising his two children.
The Duke previously said: "I've worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope that in telling my story - the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned - I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.
"I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I've learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a first-hand account of my life that's accurate and wholly truthful."
The ITV News at Ten anchor has known both Harry and Prince William since they were teenagers and conducted the now-famous interview with Meghan from the couple's South Africa tour. In 2019, Bradby made a documentary following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on their royal tour in South Africa and in one viral clip asked Meghan if she was okay.
"This has been a journey one way or another, perhaps you could give us an idea of what the last year has been like?" Bradby asked on the tour, adding: "I don't know what the impact on your physical and mental health, of all the pressure that you clearly feel under."
Meghan replied: "Erm, I would say...Look any woman when they're, especially when they're pregnant, you're really vulnerable and you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed it's...yeah well I guess and thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I'm OK, but it's a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes."
Bradby asked her: "And the answer is - would it be fair to say not really OK? As in it's really been a struggle?" To which Meghan simply replied, "yes".
Speaking in their Netflix series, Meghan said this interview with Bradby was a turning point for the couple. She said: "There is only so much you can take on your own, so you end up saying 'Something has to change'.
"It was a huge turning point. It was when we started having harder conversations about what needs to happen for us to be able to continue to make this work."
And in episode 4 of the series, Meghan said she "didn't know" what questions Bradby had planned when the cameras started rolling. "You could see I hadn't touched up my make-up, I was just fried," she said.
"I guess, because I was so exhausted, I was just really grateful that someone seemed to ask me something like I was a human being."
Meghan admits she was stunned by the reaction to her comments which prompted widespread praise on social media.
"We got in the car, got on the flight with everybody and then, I had no idea that that was going to be the thing that was going to travel around the world," she said. "That's what spawned the #WeLoveYouMeghan. It hit a chord for everyone for something specific to them."
