Prince Harry will "make every effort" to attend his son's fourth birthday party after King Charles' Coronation.
The Duke of Sussex has confirmed he will return to the UK for the historic day on May 6, while his wife Meghan Markle will remain in California with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Harry is expected to only attend the Coronation ceremony before heading back home for an "intimate" birthday party for Archie.
A source close to the family has said Meghan's mother Doria Ragland will be at the bash, along with Archie's school friends and some celebrity pals of the couple.
"Harry's going to make every effort to get back in time for Archie's birthday," the insider said.
"It's going to be an intimate party, it's not going to be like 'My Super Sweet 16' or Portia de Rossi's 50th!"
They also said Harry will be flying home on a commercial plane, instead of a private jet, and will be hoping to catch a flight following the 11am ceremony.
This means he could arrive home in the early evening, due to the eight-hour time difference.
Speaking to Page Six, the royal insider also said Meghan "doesn't want any more rifts," despite reports of the Duchess staying away due to a family feud.
"She wants her children to know their grandfather, Charles, particularly when they are not going to know their other grandfather [Thomas Markle]."
They also said Meghan's decision to stay away was done in the hopes of keeping attention on King Charles during the big event at Westminster Abbey.
They added how she doesn't want "everything being lived out in the public eye".
Prince Harry's decision to attend the Coronation ends months of speculation about whether or not the couple would be at the historic occasion.
Confirming his attendance, the Palace said in a statement: "Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May.
"The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet."
Archewell, Harry and Meghan’s charitable foundation, issued a near identical statement to Buckingham Palace confirming the duke will join guests at the coronation.
A spokesperson said: "The Duke of Sussex will attend the coronation service at Westminster Abbey on May 6th. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet."
