Prince Harry Under Fire after Allegations of bias against Black Women

A rare and explosive admission has emerged in the wake of Prince Harry’s resignation from Sentebale, the African-based charity he co-founded in 2006 in memory of Princess Diana. Dr. Sophie Chandauka, Chair of the Sentebale Board, has spoken out for the first time about the circumstances surrounding the Duke of Sussex’s departure—and her comments are nothing short of scathing.

In an interview with The Times of London, Dr. Chandauka accused Prince Harry of engaging in “misogynoir,” a term defined by Merriam-Webster as the “hatred of, aversion to, or prejudice against Black women.”

Her remarks appear to be a direct response to recent statements from Prince Harry’s camp, following his abrupt departure from the charity after nearly two decades of involvement. The Duke’s resignation shocked many, as Sentebale was one of the few patronages he retained after stepping back from royal duties, according to Page Six.

Dr. Chandauka did not hold back, branding the Duke’s involvement in the charity as a “vanity project,” shared with co-founder Prince Seeiso of Lesotho and a trustee. “Everything I do at Sentebale is in pursuit of the integrity of the organization, its mission, and the young people we serve,” she said in a statement.

“My actions are guided by the principles of fairness and equitable treatment for all, regardless of social status or financial means.” She also delivered a sharp critique of individuals who, in her view, manipulate media narratives while mistreating others behind the scenes.

“There are people in this world who behave as though they are above the law and mistreat people, and then play the victim card and use the very press they disdain to harm people who dare to challenge their conduct,” she added. While Prince Harry has yet to respond publicly to Dr. Chandauka’s statements, the remarks have added a new layer of controversy to his departure from the charity.

Sentebale was originally established to support children and young people affected by HIV in Lesotho and Botswana. It has long been regarded as one of Harry’s most personal philanthropic endeavors, rooted deeply in the legacy of his late mother, Princess Diana.

The fallout between Harry and Sentebale’s leadership now casts a shadow over one of his most meaningful charitable affiliations.
