Prince Harry will attend his father's coronation next month, but his wife Meghan Markle will opt to stay stateside with their children, Buckingham Palace today announced.
The Duke of Sussex recently laid bare his troubled relationship with the royal family through his best-selling autobiography Spare and a controversial Netflix documentary, but will attend the historic event come May 6 in which King Charles III and his stepmother, Camilla, will be crowned.
Meghan however, will not be travelling to Westminster Abbey for the monumental occasion - instead staying in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

In a brief statement today, The Palace said: "Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”
The news comes as an ending to months of speculation as to whether the couple would be attending the biggest day of Charles' life next month. The date also happens to land on the very same day as Archie's fourth birthday.
