Prince Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy has weighed in on Prince Harry's fractured relationship with his family and says that private matters should 'remain private'.
Emanuele is the son and heir of Vittorio Emanuele of Savoy and the only grandson of Umberto II, who was the last King of Italy. In 2023, the Prince of Venice abdicated his claim as heir in favour of his daughter, Princess Vittoria of Savoy.
Speaking of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's departure and estranged relationship with the Royal Family, Emanuele shared his thoughts on the fractured bond between the Sussexes and The Firm. Emanuele expressed sadness at seeing Harry arrive alone at King Charles’ coronation as he stated he is still the son of the King.
"I don’t like to criticise," Emanuele told Fox News Digital. "And you know, they did their choice. Harry is a very intelligent young man. He suffered a lot [from] the media attention when he was young.
"Then, when his mother died, perhaps at a certain point he wanted to live another life, and he left with his wife… to America."
"I felt a bit sad when I saw him at the coronation of King Charles arriving alone… because he’s still the son of the king of England," the 50-year-old shared. "[But] I think private matters should stay private in families."
The Prince continued: “I’m sure he’s suffering a lot about what is happening. You grew up to be like this. But you know, it’s [their] choice and God bless them. And I hope they will have a wonderful life."
The Prince of Venice weighed in on Harry's fraught relationship with his family, which took a rapid decline following the release of his memoir Spare in January. Harry made a series of allegations against his family and unflattering remarks towards Queen Camilla - who he often referred to as 'the other women'.
