Prince Harry spotted giving William 'thunderous look' during King's coronation

Prince Harry was spotted giving William a "thunderous look" during the King's Coronation ceremony, according to a body language expert. The Duke of Sussex was sitting two rows behind his brother for the crowning of his father and the Queen Consort in Westminster Abbey yesterday.

As Harry entered the church on Saturday with his cousin Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, he nodded and smiled at guests. Behavioural expert Judi James said it was a "telling moment" when Harry was seen looking in his brother's direction when he sat down.

She told Fabulous : "Despite his act of bravado there were some more telling moments and expressions from Harry, like this pensive one when he seemed to glance across at William. William is clearly not about to look back here and Harry’s severe side-eye glance suggests he’s sneaking this thunderous look almost unintentionally.

"When we tell ourselves not to do something the brain only tends to hear the suggestion without processing the ‘don’t’ command, suggesting the more Harry was telling himself not to look across at his brother the more he couldn’t stop."

Harry's attendance marked his first public appearance alongside the royals since he lambasted his family in his controversial memoir Spare, reports the Mirror. During the service, as the congregation paid homage to the King, he was seen speaking the words: "God save King Charles. Long live King Charles. May the King live forever."

William played a prominent role, kneeling at his father's feet, pledging his loyalty and then kissing him on the cheek. George served as page boy, helping to carry the train of his grandfather's robes.

It is understood Harry wore what he was asked to wear, which consisted of a dark morning suit and tie, his Afghanistan and Jubilee medals pinned to his suit jacket, and a Royal Victorian Order star and neck decoration.

Following his father's Coronation, he abruptly returned to California after catching a British Airways flight within hours of the ceremony. Harry arrived at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at around 7.30pm local time (3.30am UK) to reunite with his son on his birthday.

Prince Archie turned four on Saturday and spent the day with his mother, the Duchess of Sussex, at their US home. British Airways flight attendants confirmed that Harry had been on the flight but said they were not permitted to discuss the details of his trip.

His abrupt return to the US meant he did not appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the finale of the day, with the Palace confirming earlier that he had no formal role at the event.

Also absent from the balcony was Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, who has stepped away from public life after a controversial Newsnight interview in November 2019 and the furore over his friendship with paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.
