Prince Harry shares moving moment with airport staff as he returns to London after Queen's death

Prince Harry was seen sharing a comforting moment with a member of staff at the airport as he prepared to fly back to London following the death of Queen Elizabeth II .

The Queen’s grandson had travelled to Balmoral yesterday afternoon as concerns spread over Her Majesty’s health, arriving in the grounds after the sad news had been announced to the world. His wife Meghan Markle remained in London as Harry made the journey, following his brother Prince William and all four of the Queen’s children.

After the Palace announced that the Queen had died “peacefully” at Balmoral on Thursday afternoon, Harry was seen leaving Balmoral Castle at around 8:15am this morning. The 37-year-old Prince wore a black suit as he was later seen boarding a British Airways flight alone at Aberdeen International Airport, the Manchester Evening News reports .

As he made his way to the aircraft Harry was accompanied by a woman wearing a hi-vis jacket, according to PA. The pair were seen exchanging words, and at one point the Duke of Sussex placed a kind hand on the woman’s back as they spoke in what appeared to be an emotional moment.

Harry and Meghan, who were visiting London from their home of the US when news of the Queen’s declining health broke, are now expected to remain in the UK until after the state funeral. It’s thought that they will stay in Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.
