Prince Harry has said he wants his 'father and brother back' in a new ITV bombshell interview. The Duke of Sussex has shared his personal story in his own words as he speaks to ITV news presenter Tom Bradby.
The in-depth ITV special, Harry: The Interview, was filmed in California. Harry goes into detail on his life in and out of the Royal Family. He speaks on a range of personal topics such as never before heard details on the death of Princess Diana.
In the special Harry also speaks on his future after leaving the Royal Family with wife Meghan Markle, reports The Mirror. The 90-minute tell-all will be broadcast two days before Prince Harry’s autobiography Spare is published on 10 January. In a twenty second preview clip of the interview, Harry tells the ITV newsreader: “it never needed to be this way".

"It never needed to be this way, the leaking and the planting, I want a family - not an institution,” he said. "They feel that it's somehow better to keep us as the villains.
"They've shown no willingness to reconcile. I would like to get my father back. I would like to have my brother back," says Harry.
Michael Jermey, ITV Director of News and Current Affairs, said: “It is extremely rare for a member of the Royal Family to speak so openly about their experience at the heart of the institution.
“Tom Bradby’s interview with Prince Harry will be a programme that everyone with an informed opinion on the monarchy should want to watch.”
Ian Rumsey, ITN Productions Managing Director and Executive Producer, said: "Harry's version of events contains many elements we've never heard before, as viewers will see. It is a raw and intimate perspective on his relationships with the people closest to him and the moments that have shaped him."
Harry is preparing to release his book called Spare, an advanced reader has already claimed that the book takes aim at his brother Prince William, and Kate, the Princess of Wales.
The source told The Sunday Times: “Generally, I think the book [will be] worse for them than the royal family is expecting. Everything is laid bare. Charles comes out of it better than I had expected, but it’s tough on William, in particular, and even Kate gets a bit of a broadside.
“There are these minute details, and a description of the fight between the brothers. I personally can’t see how Harry and William will be able to reconcile after this.”
Prince Harry has also given an interview to Anderson Cooper for CBS News which will air this Sunday in the US. In a preview for this interview, Prince Harry said: "Every single time I've tried to do it privately, there have been briefings and leakings and planting of stories against me and my wife."
Harry’s book Spare was first announced last year, with an official synopsis for the “unflinching” memoir reading: “It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror.
“As Diana, Princess of Wales, was laid to rest, billions wondered what the princes must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.
“For Harry, this is that story at last. With its raw, unflinching honesty, Spare is a landmark publication full of insight, revelation, self-examination, and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief.”
Harry: The Interview is on ITV1 and ITVX at 9pm on January 8
