Prince Harry's warning about Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis' futures would have upset the Prince and Princess of Wales, according to a royal expert.
The Duke of Sussex used his controversial memoir released earlier this year to reveal how his life had been impacted by being a second-born son or 'spare' - the title of the book.
In a later interview to promote the book, he admitted he feared his younger niece and nephew Charlotte, seven, and Louis, who turns five on Sunday, would also "end up" like him.
And according to former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond, these comments would not have gone down well with their parents William and Kate, who were most likely upset by them.
She told OK! : "It's not that William told Harry not to interfere with his children's lives, it's that he told him that George, Charlotte and Louis were not his responsibility - so I've got a lot of sympathy for William in that regard.
"I mean, Harry has a huge chip on his shoulder about being a spare, we all know that now, but he doesn't have to, assume that William and Catherine's children will feel the same as him.
"Charlotte and Louis will be very important people with huge privilege and a huge platform, so they don't need to feel spare. Just because Harry felt spare, doesn't mean that his nephews and nieces will feel spare."

Harry made the comments about his brother's family in an interview with The Telegraph in January.
He told the publication: "Though William and I have talked about it once or twice, and he has made it very clear to me that his kids are not my responsibility, I still feel a responsibility knowing that out of those three children, at least one will end up like me, the spare and that hurts, that worries me."
William and Harry are known to have a very frosty relationship for many years, with the older brother bearing the brunt of his younger sibling's criticism in Spare.
In the book, he even claims William physically attacked him during a row at Kensington Palace several years ago.
When Harry attends the Coronation of King Charles next month, it will be the first time the brothers have come face to face since the release of the book.
But despite the warring brothers coming together for the historic event, Mirror royal editor Russell Myers doesn't believe there will be any sort of reconciliation between the pair.
He told True Royalty TV's The Royal Beat: "William and Harry are still pretty much at rock bottom. I don't think anything has changed there.
"I don't think the Prince of Wales will have time or the inclination to speak to his brother. He feels immensely hurt by the barbs that were in Harry’s book and the way that he [Harry] has carried on speaking knowing it will hurt the family.
"The issue is Harry has earned an incredible amount of money off the back of these attacks. Whether William has cause to speak to him - I very much doubt."
