Prince Harry's glances at William during Queen's funeral showed 'regret', says expert

Prince Harry shot several glances at brother Prince WIlliam during the Queen's state funeral that appeared to be "regretful", a body language expert has claimed.

The two brothers, who are known to have a rocky relationship, came together today for the state funeral service of their grandmother the Queen. In moving scenes, both brothers walked behind the coffin as it was brought on the state gun carriage to Westminster Abbey. After the service they walked again with the coffin to Wellington Arch in a huge procession and are now heading to Windsor for their final goodbye. And according to body language expert Judi James, during the service in the Abbey, Harry looked around especially at his brother.

She told the Sun : "During the service he was dabbing tears as well as tending to look around a lot and there were at least two occasions when his gaze that was more of a stare appeared directed at William.

"His expression suggested sadness and possible regret."

After the service came to an end, and the brothers prepared to march behind the coffin once again, Harry put on his most "emotional display".

"Standing in line he watched as the brother he had once been so close to; the nephew he had adored playing with, and the sister-in-law he had viewed as his own sister filed in front of him with not one glance in his direction. His face seemed to pucker into a more intense signal of grief and his lips sucked in again."

There has been much made of the rift between the two brothers with their frosty relationship reportedly sparked by William's concerns over Harry's fast-developing relationship with Meghan Markle ahead of their royal wedding in 2018.

The tense row quickly boiled over - with Harry claiming his brother was "trapped" within the royal system during a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey after quitting as a senior royal.

In future, though, with William heir to the British throne and Harry building a life with Meghan in the US, their paths will continue to diverge after this long goodbye to their grandmother.

The Queen’s coffin has now begun its final journey from Westminster Abbey to Windsor Castle where the late monarch will be reunited with her beloved husband.

Hundreds of thousands of well-wishers flocked to London and are lining the route through the capital to say their last goodbyes, while millions around the globe are watching proceedings on TV.

A televised committal ceremony will take place in the chapel at 4pm followed by a private interment service attended by senior royals.
