Prince Harry's children Archie and Lilibet don't have Coronation roles - while Camilla's family do

Prince George will play a crucial part in King Charles' Coronation, however, his cousins Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet haven't been given roles so far.

Archie and Lilibet are both grandchildren of the new King, but despite this it is believed that the three-year-old and one-year-old have not even been invited to the event, with sources saying that the children are "very young", writes The Mirror.

It is unknown if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will attend the coronation as they have yet to confirm.

Archie and Lilibet seemingly won't play any part in the day itself, but their cousins and Queen Camilla's grandchildren have been given roles.

Prince George, nine, will be a 'Page of Honour' while Princess Charlotte, seven and Prince Louis, who turns five next month, will join their grandfather and the Queen as they leave the Abbey.

George will carry his grandfather's robes as he enters and leaves Westminster Abbey.

The King and George’s dad, Prince William, were eager for the young prince to play an important role on May 6 - making him front and centre.

George and seven other boys named Pages of Honour will “attend their majesties”, the King and Queen, during the service.

Their main role is to carry their long, heavy robes. The honour is usually granted to teenage sons of members of the nobility and gentry, and especially of senior Royal Household members.

The boys are either relatives of Charles and Camilla or family friends.

These roles traditionally go to boys aged 12 to 15, but young George was given the task after showing a “deep interest” in the ceremony.

A Palace insider added: “The King is very keen to show those in the line of succession, his natural heirs, at the centre of his Coronation.

“Even though he is only nine, George is very mature and already has a deep understanding of the roles of his grandfather and father, as well as his future role.

“This task is a wonderful sign of the future being laid out by the King.”

The King’s other Pages of Honour will be Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, 13, Nicholas Barclay, 13, and Ralph Tollemache, 12. The Queen Consort’s Pages of Honour will be her grandsons, twins Gus and Louis Lopes, and Freddy Parker Bowles, along with great-nephew, Arthur Elliot.
