Prince Harry laid bare a brutal “plot” against Meghan Markle to his brother Prince William.
As the Duke of Sussex was on the verge of leaving the Royal Family, before his move to the US, he had an intimate conversation with his brother.
But in a moment of openness, Harry told William about a so-called “plot” against Meghan, including one staff member who had been allegedly “sabotaging” her.
Harry said he had been “braced for a lecture” from William but “it didn’t come”.
Then, “for the first time in a long time my brother heard me out, and I was so grateful”, Harry wrote in his bombshell memoir Spare.
Harry said: "Someone suggested that before I left I should step outside with Willy. Cool our heads. All right. We went up and down the yew hedges.
“The day was freezing. I was wearing only a light jacket, and Willy was in a jumper, so both of us were shivering."
The Duke of Sussex continues: "I was braced for a lecture. It didn’t come. Willy was subdued.
“He wanted to listen. For the first time in a long time my brother heard me out, and I was so grateful. I told him about one past staff member sabotaging Meg. Plotting against her.
"I told him about one current staff member, whose close friend was taking payments for leaking private stuff to the press about Meg and me.
“My sources on this were above reproach, including several journalists and barristers. Plus, I’d made a visit to New Scotland Yard.
“Willy frowned. He and Kate had their own suspicions. He’d look into it. We agreed to keep talking."
The rocky relationship between the two brothers has been long reported on, including one moment where a disagreement turned physical.
Also in Harry’s memoirs, he claimed William grabbed him by the collar and knocked him to the ground after a heated row.
The incident took place at his London home, in 2019.
It comes as talks over Harry and Meghan are said to be locked in negotiations with the Royal Family over their role in the Coronation.
Harry has reportedly made a number of “demands” as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been invited to the big day, but have not yet confirmed if they’ll be going or not.

Their children, Archie and Lilibet, are rumoured to have not been invited and the date falls on their eldest son’s birthday too.
It's believed that Harry and Meghan are keen to attend the coronation as it is a key milestone for the family, but would like some recognition of their son's celebration.
Alongside that, it is said Harry wants a face-to-face meeting with his brother and dad, and the Sussexes reportedly want to appear on the balcony at Buckingham Palace once the King has been crowned.
