Prince Harry has published private text message exchanges between his wife Meghan Markle and sister-in-law Kate over Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid dress.
The Duke of Sussex's new book Spare is released today and in the memoir, he claims that the encounter - which ended in tears - was mostly driven by Kate, who wasn't happy at having to wait a day to hear back from Meghan about the dress ahead of the 2018 Royal wedding.
According to The Mirror, he claimed that Meghan suggested bringing Charlotte's dress to a tailor at Kensington Palace but says the idea "wasn't sufficient" and Kate insisted "all the dresses need to be remade".
Before the big day, Harry said Meghan had a lot going on with the drama surrounding her her father, Thomas Markle - which left her "sobbing on the floor".
In an excerpt from the book, Harry writes: "Meg didn't reply to Kate straight away. Yes, she had endless wedding-related texts, but mostly she was dealing with the chaos surrounding her father. So the next morning she texted Kate that our tailor was standing by."
According to Harry, Meghan said the tailor was named Ajay and was at "KP" which is Kensington Palace.
Harry printed the texts in his book. He wrote: Kate: "Charlotte's dress is too big, too long, too baggy. She cried when she tried it on a home."
Meghan: "Right, and I told you the tailor has been standing by since 8am. Here. At KP. Can you take Charlotte to have it altered, as the other mums are doing?"
Kate: "No, all the dresses need to be remade."
Meghan: "I'm not sure what else to say. If the dress doesn't fit then please take Charlotte to see Ajay. He's been waiting all day."
Kate: "Fine."
Harry's book is out today, however copies accidentally went on sale in Spain last week, meaning fans were able to get their hands on a copy prematurely.
Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace have declined to comment on the leaked claims from Harry’s book.
