A royal expert claims Prince Harry has "ended any relationship" he had with his family as he "knew exactly what he was doing" when he publicly hit at out at them on numerous occasions.
The gripes between the Duke and Duchess and Sussex and the rest of the Royal Family have been widely reported thanks to his tell-all memoir Spare and the couple's very high profile chat with US talk show host Oprah Winfrey.
Now that royal watchers avidly await the confirmation of whether or not the pair will be in attendance at the King's Coronation on May 6, one author has highlighted the fact that Harry was quite aware what he was doing to the bond between him and his family when he spoke out about a number of issues including claims of "racism" and poor treatment of his wife Meghan.
Alexander Larman, who authored the recent book The Windsors At War, was a guest on last week’s episode of the Royally Us podcast, as writes the Express.
Speaking to hosts Christine Ross and Christina Garibaldi, the writer revealed he "can't see in the current situation" how Harry is going to "have any sort of relationship" with certain members of his family going forward.
“He's got a new life now. It's a completely different life,” he said. “There's no possibility that he's going to come back to Britain and lead any sort of normal life."
Larman's comments came as Harry arrived in the UK for a surprise visit last week.
The 38-year-old was just one of the seven high-profile individuals who has brought a case against Daily Mail publisher Associated Newspapers over alleged unlawful information-gathering at its titles.
Harry’s appearance in court last Monday was unexpected and was part of the duke’s stated ambition of making it his “life’s work” to change the UK media landscape.
But according to expert Larman, the prince will never be back in his homeland for good ever again.
“He can't come back. I mean the fact that, while we're speaking, he's in Britain, at the High Court, but none of his family is seeing him and that's quite telling. Apparently, he tried to see King Charles but the monarch said he was too busy.”
At the time of Harry’s visit, the King was in Germany on his first official overseas trip as the new monarch while Prince William is understood to haven been spending the Easter holidays away from the family home at Windsor.
Larman described the Firm's failure to welcome Harry home as “quite telling".
Royal biographer Angela Levin pointed out there was no need for Harry to fly to London for the hearing, saying he could have appeared in court via Zoom, alleging his “real purpose” was to “outsmart” the King and Queen Consort on such an important week.
She wrote for Sky News Australia: “It was inconceivable that another royal would try to steal the spotlight from such a significant occasion. But Harry’s respect for the Monarchy and those working within it has disintegrated ever since he and his wife Meghan stepped back as senior royals in 2020.”
She continued: “The trip gave him the ideal opportunity to prove he was more popular and powerful than the King and get himself on the newspaper front pages. He did indeed end up grabbing the media limelight, but the King and Queen didn’t give him much competition.”
The Germany trip was a huge success for King Charles, with crowds greeting the couple on a balcony, chanting “We Want King Charles” despite heavy rain.
During their three-day visit, the King and Queen Consort emphasised the theme of reconciliation and the strong bond between the UK and Germany, and laid wreaths in memory of victims of the war. Charles also addressed the German Parliament, becoming the first UK monarch to do so and was also photographed enjoying a pint and meeting with Germany Euriovision’s entry.
Ms Levin added: “The visit has made a mockery of his youngest son’s attempt, in his recently published memoir Spare, to give the impression his father is a doddery inept man who shows little emotion. We saw for our ourselves how the King and Queen Consort sailed through engagements, at both day and night, and received a wonderful reception.”
Despite Harry and Meghan not confirming if they'll attend the coronation or not, a seating plan drama has erupted ahead of the event, as we reported yesterday. Arranging seating plans at big family events can be rather challenging - but it's going to be a whole new level of awkward at King Charles' big day next month.
