Prince Harry reveals in his new book details of how he was told that his mother, Princess Diana, had been in the car crash that would prove fatal, according to reports.
It comes on a day of revelations around the Duke of Sussex's new book, Spare, which is due for release soon. Leaked excerpts have been making headlines around the world.
Now, Sky News, which says it has seen a copy of the book, reports that a segment of the book details the moment in August 1997 that his father, now King Charles, told him that Diana had been seriously injured. He said Charles woke him up and "sat on the edge of the bed and put his hand on my knee".
According to Harry, the then-Prince Charles said: "My dear son, mum has had a car accident. There have been complications. Mum has been seriously injured and has been taken to hospital, my dear son."
The Duke is reported to have written: "He would always call me 'dear son', but he was repeating it a lot. He spoke quietly. It gave me the impression he was in shock."
