Prince Harry and Meghan spark 'beginning of the end' fears after claims he's staying in US hotel rooms without her

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be in troubled waters following reports that the Duke of Sussex often takes a solo trip to a hotel near the couple's lavish mansion in the US. The pair live together in Montecito in a plush pad with their two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

It comes as a royal commentator has voiced concerns that it is the "beginning of the end" for the ex-working royals, who have sparked numerous split allegations over recent months despite putting on a very convincing public front.

Harry reportedly has a room "set aside" for him at the lavish San Vicente Bungalows in California according to reports in the Scottish Express which he uses to spend alone away from his wife and Archie, four, and Lilibet, one.

Despite a rep for the couple, who stepped down from their roles as working members of the Royal family in 2020, debunking any rumours the couple is on the rocks, it has not stopped experts from weighing in on their opinions of the pair's relationship.

As reported originally by The Sun, the source quoted that the room, which is around a two-hour drive from their £12m Montecito home, was viewed by Harry as an "escape place" which is surrounded by strict privacy rules.

San Vicente Bungalows is a private members club in Los Angeles with rules outlining that state guests are not allowed to take pictures inside the premises and all phone cameras must be covered at all times. Guests are also prohibited from discussing what they see during their stay there.

Attendees are banned from approaching or interrupting other members, according to the hotel's FAQ page. Annual fees for the exclusive club are around £3,200 but applicants must first be vetted by a panel which is rumoured to include Hollywood actress Julia Roberts.

However, a spokesperson for the couple's non-profit organisation Archewell has rubbished the rumours and denied the existence of the room at the exclusive resort.

Royal expert Kara Kennedy speculated that the reports highlight the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's relationship is not all as it seems as they have been thrust into the public spotlight yet again.

"Every time you see them together, Harry kind of looks scathing, Meghan has this Cheshire Cat smile even in the paparazzi photos Harry looks angry and kind of like a lost lamb, and Meghan looks like she's ready to be photographed at any time," she told GB News.

She added: "I think this is the beginning of the end. Everybody kind of knew that it was coming, you can't really have such a different power dynamic. Even from the Time Magazine front cover, remember when Harry was kind of stepping behind Meghan, everybody made a joke that he looked like a hairdresser. When you have that kind of dynamic, resentment will build."

The reports of Harry's alleged 'private room' come as the couple celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary last week but were notably quiet in posting any pictures of the event.

Harry and Meghan have been spotted slowly edging their way back into public life following months of drama among the monarchy with the release of the pair's controversial Netflix documentary and Harry's bombshell memoir spare which threw damaging allegations towards his family.

Just last week, the couple released a statement accusing the paparazzi in New York City of almost causing a "near catastrophic" car accident after half a dozen paps allegedly chased them and Meghan's mother through the city in a ruthless car chase.

It read: “Last night, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms. Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi.

“This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD officers. While being a public figure comes with a level of interest from the public, it should never come at the cost of anyone’s safety.”
