Prince Harry and Meghan Markle felt 'destined to live' at Frogmore Cottage before handing back keys

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have officially moved out of Frogmore Cottage, with all of their possessions having now been shipped to their home in Montecito, California.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were served an eviction notice nearly six months ago following their departure from the Royal Family.

Harry previously said it felt like the couple were "destined to live there" as they loved waking up in the morning and enjoying long walks in the gardens.

Frogmore Cottage was their official UK residence after late Queen Elizabeth II gifted the home to the couple, the Mirror reports.

The pair moved in just weeks before the birth of their son, Prince Archie, and share fond memories of the property.

They started to raise their son in the home after his birth on May 6, 2019, and the cottage is also just around the corner from they held their wedding reception in May 2018.

Harry wrote about his and Meghan's connection to Frogmore Cottage in his debut memoir Spare.

"Meg and I moved our office into Buckingham Palace. We also moved into a new home. Frogmore was ready. We loved that place. From the first minute," he said.

"It felt as if we were destined to live there.

"We couldn't wait to wake up in the morning, go for a long walk in the gardens, check in with the swans. Especially grumpy Steve.

"We met the Queen's gardeners, got to know their names and the names of all the flowers. They were thrilled at how much we appreciated, and praised, their artistry."

Is was revealed that Harry and Meghan have now come to a "private agreement" with the King if they want to stay at any royal residences in the future as they no longer have Frogmore.

Is it expected that during future visits to the UK, they will rely on family, friends or hotels.
