Prince George's 'uncanny resemblance' to Princess Diana highlighted by royal fans

Prince George has sparked comparisons with his late grandmother Princess Diana this weekend as Royal Family fans commented on the striking resemblance between the pair.

The eight-year-old, who is third in line to the throne, was pictured making a rare public appearance with his mum and dad on Saturday.

The child was spotted at the England v Wales rugby match as the two played in the Six Nations at Twickenham.

His dad Prince William was spectating in his role as ambassador of the Welsh Rugby Union, whilst his mum Kate Middleton was there as patron of the Rugby Football Union.

Royal fans were swooning over the young prince on social media and discussing the uncanny resemblance to the Lady Princess Diana, his paternal grandmother.

“We can’t be alone in saying we see Princess Diana here? Prince George is starting to seriously resemble his grandmother,” wrote one fan.

Another said: “How can Prince George already have such a defined jaw and grow so tall? Wasn’t he just a baby yesterday?”

One fan said: “Our little Prince isn’t so little anymore.”

His mother’s team eventually came out on top, as they held off a second-half comeback from Wales to secure a 23-19 win in front of a sell-out crowd, report Mirror Online.

The future king and queen arrived at the stadium just hours after they made a rare political statement, in a show of support for the Ukrainians who are fighting against Russian invaders.

In the statement posted on Twitter, they said: “In October 2020 we had the privilege to meet President Zelensky and the First Lady to learn of their hope and optimism for Ukraine’s future.

“Today we stand with the President and all of Ukraine’s people as they bravely fight for that future.”

The Queen recently gave Kate the RFU and Rugby Football League patronages, roles formerly held by the Duke of Sussex before he quit royal duties in 2020.

During her first engagement earlier this month with members of the England teams, Kate said of her rivalry with William: “We’re terribly competitive.

“The fact we’re now supporting two different teams is going to make things interesting.”

She also said that George, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3, were “all enjoying” playing rugby.
