Prince George's smart outfit at The Ashes raises eyebrows as fans notice missing item

Royal fans have spotted a key item 'missing' from Prince George's outfit as he enjoyed a day out at the Ashes with his father.

Prince William brought young George along for a surprise day at Lord's on Saturday to watch the second test between England and Australia.

While the two future Kings had their eyes firmly fixed on the drama as England launched a spirited comeback, some viewers commented on the fact that while the Prince of Wales had a pair of sunglasses on, the nine-year-old did not, reports Birmingham Live.

One eagle-eyed royal enthusiast wrote on Twitter: "Prince George needs some sunglasses, he is screwing up his eyes, sunshine is too strong."

Another commented: "They should get Prince George some sunglasses.", to which another user added: "Prince George needs to wear sunglasses as well as dad."

Others also took the time admire the sweet father-son moment, as one person penned: "Prince George tell your Dad you need to borrow his sunglasses because you forgot yours. LOL A great picture! I bet Prince Louis is counting down the days until he can start going too,"

Some social media users have asked why Prince George wasn't wearing sunglasses (PA)

In the royal box, Prince William was seen in a blue jacket above a light blue shirt, while his son was in a dark blue suit. Both opted for a relaxed style, with their top buttons undone.

They were seen enjoying the game together and discussing the match, with William, 41, pointing out a number of plays to his eldest son.

The pair were engrossed in the action on the field, and at some points shared very similar facial expressions.

Also in attendance was Rishi Sunak, who greeted William in the royal box alongside the ECB chairman, Richard Thompson.

Moments after greeting Sunak himself, George tucked in to a slice of pizza as the adults spoke.

The royals were later joined by actor and comedian Stephen Fry.

William and George appear to share a keen interest in sport, and have attended number of football, rugby, tennis and cricket matches together over the last few years.

Back in April, they were seen on the edge of their seats during a Premier League clash at Villa Park.
