Prince Archie hasn't had too much luck when it comes to birthdays - and this year is no different.
Awkwardly, the youngster is celebrating his fourth birthday on May 6, which is the same day as King Charles' Coronation.
Despite being the grandchildren of the new King, it is believed that Archie, three, and sister Princess Lilibet, one, were not invited, with sources citing that the children are "very young".
While Prince Harry flies back to the UK to watch his father being crowned, his kids will stay at home in California to enjoy celebrations with mum Meghan Markle.
Instead of being forced to sit inside Westminster Abbey for the ceremony, the Sussex kids will be enjoying a fun-filled "intimate" birthday party for Archie.
The young prince hasn't always had the best of birthdays, with the Royal Family awkwardly forced to re-use old photos of Harry and Meghan's son in 2022.
According to the Mail, officials at the palace were left feeling uncomfortable because they didn't have an up-to-date picture of Archie to accompany his birthday messages on social media.
Instead they had to use photos from just after he was born or from his official christening.
A source said: "The truth is the Prince of Wales has barely seen his grandson twice since he was born. In fact every member of Harry’s family can easily count on one hand the number of times they saw Archie after he was born and before the family left the UK. It’s a very sad situation."
On the official Royal Family Twitter account, a picture was posted of Archie as a newborn with his parents and grandmother Doria meeting the Queen and the late Prince Philip.
It was accompanied by the message: "Wishing Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a very happy 3rd Birthday!" It also featured a birthday cake emoji.
Prince William and Princess Kate opted to share a family photo taken at Archie's christening, which also featured Charles, Camilla and two of the late Princess Diana's sisters.
Their message read: "Wishing Archie a very happy 3rd Birthday today" followed by a birthday cake and balloon emojis.
As for Archie's grandfather Charles, his Clarence House Twitter account shared the same picture posted by the Queen's account with the words
His message to his grandson read: "Happy Birthday Archie!"
Harry will be missing for part of Archie's birthday this year as he dashes back to the UK for a 'brief' Coronation trip - but he hopes to be back for some of the celebrations.
He was also absent for part of his son's birthday in 2022, as he went off to play polo with his 'Los Padres' team.
Harry was riding horses with pal Nacho Figueras, the Argentinian actor who appeared in the Sussex's Netflix documentary and was also thanked in the acknowledgements in autobiography Spare.
Their team won their match at the Santa Barbara polo club against rivals Mokarow Farms.
Archie didn't get to see members of his dad's side of the family on his second birthday in 2021 - but he did have a Zoom call with Queen Elizabeth II.
The late Queen wished her great-grandson a happy birthday when he turned two.
According to Vanity Fair, the call took place just before the late Queen took her afternoon tea tea time due to the eight-hour time difference.
"The Queen has had messages and calls from all her family which has made her day very special," a source said.
The Queen hadn't seen Archie in person for a year and was reportedly surprised by his 'distinct American accent'.
It is traditional for royal households to release photo portraits on a family member's birthday - with the Sussexes keeping up the trend.
For Archie's second birthday, Meghan and Harry shared a new photo of their son on their Archewell Foundation website.
The little prince was holding a bouquet of birthday balloons - and it came with a request for fans to donate to COVID vaccine equity for vulnerable families around the world.
There were no royals at Archie's first birthday party, a close-knit family affair with Harry and Meghan celebrating at home with her mum, Doria Ragland.
As is tradition for most royal children, the Sussexes released a new photo of their son on his birthday.
In an incredibly sweet snap, an excited Archie could be seen in his high chair wearing a yellow party hat.
"They are celebrating as a family focused on Archie and being together," a source told PEOPLE at the time.
"They'll have a smash cake and Zooms with family and friends. It's been beautiful weather, so perhaps a family stroll with the dogs."
With most of the Royal Family at the Coronation this year, it remains to be seen if any of them will pay tribute to Archie on his birthday.
