Prince Andrew 'plans autobiography' to 'set record straight' after Harry's book success

Prince Andrew is thinking about releasing a tell-all autobiography to "set the record straight", according to sources.

The Duke is reportedly in talks with a US author, who has previously worked with high-profile celebrities and politicians.

There are also two publishers already interested in Andrew's autobiography, it's believed.

Prince Andrew's book was reportedly described by those close to the Duke as 'Spare 2.0', in the wake of his nephew's explosive memoir.

Prince Harry's book Spare was released in January earlier this year, and included some ground-breaking insights into life in the Royal Family.

The book sold almost 1.5 million copies in North America and Britain in just 24 hours.

It marked the largest first-day sales for any nonfiction book ever published by Penguin Random House - the world's largest publisher.

Prince Andrew is also keen to "fully explain his association with Jeffrey Epstein and the resulting fall-out", a source told the Daily Mail.

They said: "Andrew was the original spare and there’s plenty of material. Compared to Harry, he has a far greater depth of history to draw from.

"It would also be a fascinating insight into the inner workings of the royals and their relationships."

The Duke stepped back from his public role in the Royal Family in May 2020, and his honorary military affiliations and royal charitable patronages were removed almost two years later.

Andrew is currently eighth in line to the British throne, and younger brother to King Charles.

He had two daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson - although they remained close after their separation.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry's book provided a rare glimpse into his early life within the Royal Family.

He revealed that Prince William physically attacked him during an argument, back in 2019, as well as a bizarre story about his frostbitten penis.
