Prince Andrew 'demanded room temperature water and ironing board' on trips

Prince Andrew demanded his water be strictly served at room temperature and that his valet haul around a six-foot ironing board on foreign trips, it has been claimed.

Sources say the Duke was known for being "rude" and having "childish obsessions" - as he was ridiculed while on the road fulfilling royal duties, reports claim.

It comes after reports the embattled Duke of York would allegedly "scream and shout" if Buckingham Palace servants failed to follow his exact plan for the arrangement of his teddy bears.

Now more supposed demanding behaviour has come to light during his term as the UK's special representative for trade and investment.

It includes suggestions he was privately mocked in the Gulf during his time as a special envoy.

A diplomat says the Prince became known as HBH - His Buffoon Highness.

The former deputy head of mission in Bahrain, Simon Wilson, says the royal's travelling entourage left people speechless.

He told The Times Andrew flew out a team which included his equerries and private secretaries.

His valet would be equipped with a huge ironing board to ensure his clothes were perfectly pressed, it was claimed.

The diplomat, who had previously hosted the Duke, added that Andrew was "rude" and "boorish" and wasn't well-liked.

Mr Wilson explained he was known as a "buffoon" because of his "childish obsession with doing the exact opposite of what had been agreed".

He immediately warned that Andrew's private life would “willy-nilly, intrude into his public role” – and that he could be “going off with Ghislaine Maxwell to a nightclub” during his private time, it was claimed.

Andrew has effectively been banished from the royal family less than 24 hours after learning a civil sex case against him in New York will go ahead.

The latest awkward anecdotes come after Tuesday's claims that Andrew sketched out a plan for how his five teddies and cuddly toys should be positioned on his bed every night.

Ex protection officer Paul Page tells ITV ’s Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Paedophile that would “scream and shout” if his servants failed to place them exactly how he wanted.

He supplied a handwritten guide is said to have included two hippos, a black panther and bears, as well as three cushions called 'Daddy', 'Ducks' and 'Prince'.

It showed exactly where to place blankets, as well as five toys and a fur, which had ribbons that had to hang off the side of the bed, it is said.

Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Paedophile host Ranvir Singh unravels the story of how Maxwell "sank into shame and disgrace" through her friendship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

And will also explore how Andrew became embroiled in the scandal as he faces his own possible civil court case brought by Virginia Giuffre.

Andrew has strenuously denied the allegations made by Ms Giuffre against him.
