Prime Minister's former property comes up for sale with the same price as it sold for

The former property of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his ex-wife Carmel Tebbutt is

currently on the market.

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom house at 95 Beauchamp St, Marrickville, in Sydney's

inner west, was sold by Albanese and Tebbutt in July 2021 for $2.35 million.

It is scheduled to go to auction on February 10 with this same price guide.

Albanese and Tebbutt bought the property in June 2012 for $1.115 million, according to

CoreLogic.

The home has been on the market for just over one week and agent Adrian Tsavalas of

Adrian William said there had been good interest so far.

The agent said he was aware the property was once owned by the PM when he landed the

listing.

"I knew it was an investment property that he had, there was an article when it was last up

for sale."

He said the current owners were initially drawn to the property because of its location,

layout and outlook.

The home is set on a 297sqm block, opposite the Marrickville Golf Course.

The ground-floor is split-level with one bedroom and an open-plan kitchen, lounge and dining room.

A covered outdoor dining zone includes a barbeque and golf course views. On the lower-

ground floor, two more bedrooms share a main bathroom.

"The owners are selling to move closer to family, out of the area," Mr Tsavalas said.

The agent said Marrickville has proven to be a popular suburb, despite prices bouncing

around since Albanese offloaded the property.

"Marrickville as a suburb, it's definitely a hot spot.," says listing agent Adrian Tsavalas. Pic: Supplied

"In terms of Marrickville as a suburb, it's definitely a hot spot. It's a desirable place to call

home and a property like this is fantastic, with a golf course-side location."

According to CoreLogic, the median price of houses in Marrickville is $1.9 million and have

seen an 18 per cent rise over the past 12 months.

Mr Tsavalas said he expects to see interest from owner-occupiers, both downsizing and

upgrading.

Albanese - who is the Federal Member for Grayndler which covers Sydney's inner west - is

still a regular in Marrickville and surrounds. The Prime Minister is often seen visiting local

cafes and breweries with his canine pal Toto.
