Primary school makes waves with 'No Scotland, No Party!' video clip

A SCOTTISH primary school is among those joining the chorus of voices backing Steve Clarke’s men as they prepare to kick off Euro 2024 against Germany – and brought a smile to many faces in the process.

The Tartan Army has descended on Munich, with even First Minister John Swinney getting involved.

Those not in Germany are plenty loud themselves, however, and St Joseph’s Primary School in East Renfrewshire captured the mood perfectly.

Journalist Isla Traquair shared a video from the school that has been lifting the mood across social media.

“Who’s going to win?” she asks the crowd of kids, clad in Scotland kit – and in a display of optimism that would hopefully last a few hours yet, they respond clearly: “Scotland!”

The full room then joins in with a chant of “No Scotland, no party”.

Scotland kick off their Euro 2024 campaign against Germany and will also face Switzerland in Cologne and Hungary in Stuttgart.

“Fantastic. Go Scotland! Well done St Joseph’s,” said Maureen Pickering in reply to the tweet.

Other social media users hailed the clip as “fabulous” and “brilliant”.

Over in Germany, Munich issued an urgent warning to fans as crowds flooded its city centre.

The Euro 2024 host city’s official Twitter/X profile has posted a call for tourists to leave Marienplatz and spread out elsewhere.

It came as Scotland fans clamoured for public viewing spots and amid reports of more than 200,000 having made the journey to Germany.

In a tweet. the city of Munich's official account expressed concern around overcrowding in the city, as fans gather for drinks at Marienplatz.

The account (@muenchen) wrote on Twitter/X: "URGENT!!! The #Marienplatz is overcrowded. There will definitely be no public viewing there. Please spread out elsewhere in the city! The fan zone is also about to close. Please don't go to the Olympiapark anymore! #uefaeuro2024 #munich #GERSCO".
