An eagle-eyed shopper has spotted a bag in Primark that is a dead ringer for a £3,140 designer bag by celeb-adored brand Bottega Veneta. While the original Bottega Veneta Padded Cassette handbag costs more than £3,100, Primark's is considerably cheaper, and will save fashion fans a whopping sum of £3,133 - or 449 times less.
Over the years, Primark has been selling items that are very similar to high-end brands in both its fashion and beauty departments. Shoppers have been obsessed with finding dupes in the budget retailer and this is another item they're now rushing to add to their list.
Primark’s Double Weave Crossbody Bag was first spotted by TikTok user primarkxo, who compared it to Bottega Veneta’s pricey Padded Cassette. The Primark version is described as the perfect way to “add some texture to your accessories collection.”

The online description reads: “We’re loving textured accessories this season and this bag just hits the mark! Featuring four stunning colourways, this bag is fashioned with a woven texture and a cross body strap for comfortable carry.
“This bag makes the perfect statement piece you can style with any outfit.” The Primark bag comes in five colours - Ecru, Coral, Light Green, Blue and Black.
The Bottega Padded Cassette is quite similar in look and shape, and also offers a wide variety of colours. The designer bag is described as being a padded intreccio leather cross-body bag made from 100% lambskin in Italy.
Another Primark item which looks similar to Bottega Veneta is the Quilted Grab Bag - which costs £11. The self-declared Primark “obsessed” account compared this bag to Bottega’s £1,880 Mini Jodie. The Primark version is described as a “trendy grab bag with an intricate quilted texture” that is “not too big to overshadow your outfit, and not too small to go unnoticed.
“With an intricate quilted design, this grab bag is perfect for bringing some unique texture to your look - wear with a ruffled blouse or dress for a mix of prettily designed fabrics. Completing this piece is the small handle and adjustable strap.”
It comes in just two colours - White and Blue. Bottega Veneta’s Mini Jodie comes in 23 colours and is described as a mini intrecciato leather top handle bag, made from 100% lambskin and lined with calf skin.
