Primark is finally going online - with a trial of a click and collect option for shoppers. The long-awaited move means customers will be able to buy their items online and pick them up from stores.
Click and collect is being trialled at 22 stores in the north, Yorkshire and North West of England and three stores in Wales. However it will initially be restricted to children's products only.
Primark CEO Paul Marchant said: "It’s a very proud moment to see Click + Collect go live. This trial showcases the very best that Primark has to offer across kidswear, combining much more choice, great style and incredible value.
“We’re big fans of the high street and we believe passionately that a thriving local shopping area benefits everyone in the community. Our approach to online is all about supporting and complementing our stores, which will always be at the heart of our business."
A notice on Primark's website said: "The wait is over! We’re trialling a Click and Collect service in 25 stores in the north west of England, Yorkshire and North Wales, launching soon. Offering you the chance to shop our exclusive online-only Kids and Nursery collections and selected in-store ranges in one place.
"Our trial will offer you the chance to shop an exclusive range of Primark kidswear, baby and nursery products that won’t be available in-store. Including character favourites, multipacks, nursery furniture and much more. Found something you’d like that’s not available to Click and Collect?
"You can use our stock checker tool to see if it’s available to buy in your chosen store when you pick up your order and add it to your virtual wish list."
Customers can pick a day to collect their items, up to seven days ahead, from their chosen store. Orders will be available for collection from two days after they have been placed, with a £15 minimum order value.
