Primark £16 trainers £274 cheaper than Axel Arigato version

A new pair of Primark trainers have been hailed a designer 'dupe' - £274 cheaper than a similar version sold by Axel Arigato. The retailer is known for selling alternative versions to high-end products at a fraction of the cost.

But it's a new pair of trainers that have been described as the latest bargain, reports the Liverpool Echo. TikTok user @fenloninteriors_ shared a reel of the Primark shoes online. The post was captioned: “@Primark new balance/ axel trainer dupeee… obsessed p.s the fall indicates these try ons aren't for me.”

The video racked up more than 9,000 views and many comments from excited shoppers. Beneath the post, one person said: “What a bargain” and a second wrote: “Love them.”

A third shopper said: “Wow”. Another added: “Stoppp love a little bargain.” The mesh and silver design on the shoes are very similar, with a chunky sole too. Axel Arigato’s trainers also have the brand’s name written near the back of the shoe.

Primark’s shoes are priced at £16, while Axel Arigato’s version would set shoppers back £290. This means shoppers could save around £274 by opting for the dupe.

While Primark doesn't offer an online shop, the retailer does have a website where shoppers can see its latest products and check if they're in stock before heading into stores to purchase them. The £16 trainers are in stores now. You can find the Axel Arigato version here.

The shoes feature a similar design to Axel Arigato’s Marathon Runner Trainers. The bargain retailer's version are similar in colour, shape and feature a silver stripe up the side.
