Primal Scream to headline Connect Musical Festival – see the full line-up

PRIMAL Scream will perform their iconic 1991 album Screamadelica album as they headline Edinburgh’s Connect Music Festival this summer, it has been announced.

The full line-up for the event, which returns to the Royal Highland Showgrounds this August, also features producer Fred Again, the supergroup boygenius (comprising Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker) and Mercury Prize nominated hip-hop performer Loyle Carner.

Top Scottish acts are also well represented at the festival with the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Young Fathers, Arab Strap, Optimo and up-and-comers Katie Gregson-MacLeod and TAAHLIAH also set to take to the stage.

Roisin Murphy, Confidence Man, MUNA, The Lightning Seeds, Public Service Broadcasting, Beth Orton and Jockstrap also join the line-up, making for an eclectic mix at the summer festival.

It is the second year that Connect will run at the Ingliston location, and organisers are promising enhancements including an expanded camping area including boutique and pre-pitched tents.

Edinburgh’s Neighbourhood Market will be bringing street food to festival-goers, while there will also be a Makers' Market, wellness workshops and children’s activities.

Katt Lingard, festival manager, said: “We’re delighted to announce our line-up for Connect 2023. After such a fantastic festival in 2022, we’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone to an even bigger and bolder edition this summer.

“We have an unrivalled programme of music, acclaimed comedy and an expanded well-being schedule. We're opening our doors to families, with dedicated entertainment for children of all ages, and adding a fantastic artisan food destination. Connect really is a unique event in Scotland, bringing together everything that’s great about live music, being outdoors and I really feel we’ve created something so much bigger than the sum of its parts.

“Connect is all about being with friends and loved ones, creating our own community for the weekend, full of like-minded people, at one of the most beautiful festivals in the country.”

Tickets will be available for pre-sale through the Connect website from March 2, and on general sale from March 3.
