Newcastle United summer transfer target Goncalo Ramos announced himself on to the World Cup scene with a stunning hat-trick as Portugal defeat Switzerland in the final second-round game.
It was the Benfica star's first appearance in the tournament, but with Cristiano Ronaldo benched, Ramos wasted no time in notching the first treble of the tournament.
Their 6-1 win booked their place against Morocco in the quarter-finals, but many Newcastle United fans were left marvelling at Ramos' performance after summer links with a move to the Magpies.
United signed Alexander Isak after weighing up several options, but will have continued to monintor Ramos' progress. And while many fans on social media admitted his price tag may have soared after his display against the Swiss, there was some hope United would still be keen.
Here's what Newcastle fans were saying on social media about the new Portugal star.
@redpath_joyce: Bring him to Tyneside Eddie Howe
BbNufc: Best leaving it a couple of years before we go back in for him...his price will sky rocket now in the short term.
@JonniTheDragon: Even Newcastle would struggle to afford him now! I bet his value has jumped £50m-£60m, if not more!
@James_NUFC: Well he ain't coming here now then after that performance.
