PrettyLittleThing launch matching dog and owners collection and it's the cutest

Dog mums and their canine companions can match outfits in an adorable new release from fashion retailer PrettyLittleThing. The Manchester-based business launched their new pet collection earlier this month to celebrate National Pet Day.

The range is PLT’s first full pet collection and offers everything you need for your pampered pooch, from fluffy dressing gowns to stylish leads and harnesses. But there are also some cute looks for owners, too, from Dog Mum jumpers to travel mugs and water bottles.

There are 37 items in the canine collection matching some of the latest trends, including puffer jackets and borg. It’s a rather neutral collection, with black, cream and tan accessories, meaning the pieces will go with absolutely everything.

There are also toys and snuffle mats to keep your furry family member entertained and more practical essentials like collars, bowls and mats.

My seven-year-old Staffy cross rescue, Phoebe, tried out some of the best-sellers from the collection, and it’s the perfect mix of style and practicality.

Getting Phoebe ready for her walk, I put her in the PrettyLittleThing padded dog coat which comes in black and cream. Usually £15 - which is very affordable for a dog coat - it’s currently on sale for £14 and comes in five sizes.

Phoebe wore an XL, and it fit her pretty well with comfort room. My other dog, Frank, who is slightly bigger, could also fit into the coat , but it was a bit snug on him. The padded jacket mimics the trendy puffer coats on the high street, with PLT branding on the top.

It’s fleece lined for keeping your dog cosy in the cooler weather, with a hole in the top for clipping a leash onto a harness.

Speaking of leads, the PrettyLittleThing cream rope lead - available in small and large - is down to £11 from £12. The sturdy leash has black pleather detailing with a PLT bone charm, and is really comfortable to hold. It’s long enough to offer your pooch a bit of freedom for sniffing, but easy enough to shorten if needed.

The ash grey dog mum jumper has been so popular it’s almost sold out, with just a few left in a size small. The jumper has a fleecy inner and fits really well, offering a slightly oversized look without appearing to be drowning in your clothes.

As an owner, I love the phrase ‘dog mum’, and this slouchy loungewear number is ideal for throwing on to walk the dog, or just for enjoying some Sunday snuggles. What’s more is that it’s made using recycled yarn from plastic bottles, forming part of a slightly more sustainable collection from the fast fashion brand.

The jumper has an American varsity inspired look to it, reminiscent of that time Lady Diana was snapped in a grey sweatshirt and cycling shorts. It’s priced at £18, reduced from £20, and has become my go-to for pottering about or playing with the dogs.

The face of the collection is the adorable eight-year-old American Cocker Spaniel, Teddie, who won the PLT Pet competition launched in March. The brand launched a national search for the face of the collection and Teddie, won his modelling debut thanks to his stunning entry video.
