PrettyLittleThing have recreated the iconic Rachel Green dress for under £30

Throughout the 90s no-one’s style was more envied than Jennifer Aniston’s Friends character, Rachel Green. And with 90s and Y2K fashion well and truly back on trend, it's no wonder some of her most iconic looks are still being recreated today.

In season three’s The One Where No One’s Ready, Rachel wows Ross in a stylish mint green midi dress with a leg split. And fashion retailer PrettyLittleThing have just reinvented the iconic look so shoppers can look just like her.

Shoppers can snap up the sage green straight neck maxi dress for under £30, but they’ll have to be quick as the PLT site says 134 people have already purchased it today, after it went viral on TikTok overnight.

TikTok user @_marleighgreenall pointed out the similarities between the 90s number and the modern dupe in a video that’s hit nearly a quarter of a million views in less than 24 hours.

Coming in at £28, the dress is available in sizes 4 to 16, but PLT predicts it will soon be a sell out.

The brand added: “Green is our fave hue this season and we are loving this dress. Featuring a sage green material with a straight neckline, split front and maxi length, we are obsessed. Wear with your fave accessories to elevate the look.”

The dress is also available in lilac, and customers can bag free next day delivery with the code FREENDD.

Though PLT aren’t the only ones to bring out a dress in a similar style to Rachel Green’s - but may be one of the cheapest. High end retailer Whistles released the Maria square-neck woven maxi dress, but it comes with a £199 price tag.

Selfridges, where the dress is sold, said: “It’s official: spring has, well, sprung, so we can finally start planning for those evening functions, that wedding reception, and all those garden parties. All events point towards the Maria (or should we call it the Rachel Green? It certainly looks like a piece the 90s fashion icon would have had in her wardrobe at some point). Crafted by high-street hero, Whistles and cut to a floor-length silhouette, it’s the one that's always ready.”

The dresses are the perfect cut and colour for spring and summer events, from races to weddings, and we’re certain it’s going to be the look of 2022. Move over ‘the Rachel’ hairdo, it’s time for the dress to take over.
