The musical of blockbuster movie Pretty Woman will head to Manchester as part of its first ever UK tour. The musical is currently playing to packed audiences at the Savoy Theatre on London's West End.
But later this year and into 2024 the show will head out across the UK after the West End run ends in June including to Manchester Opera House. The musical brings to life "Hollywood's ultimate rom-com" - the 1990 movie that famously starred Julia Roberts and Richard Gere.
The story is set in the late 1980s and follows sex worker Vivian who has a chance meeting with corporate magnate Edward - and both of their lives go on to be transformed forever. Producers say audiences will be "swept up in the romanice in this dazzlingly theatrical take on a love story for the ages".

They add that you will "get to know these iconic characters in a whole new way". It is billed as a "sensational show guaranteed to life your spirits and light up your heart."
The musical will start its UK tour in Birmingham in October, before heading out across the UK. Fans in Manchester will have to wait until March 2024 for the Opera House dates, but tickets have gone on sale today.
Pretty Woman: The Musical features original music and lyrics by Grammy Award winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, a book by Garry Marshall and the film’s screenwriter J.F. Lawton, it is directed and choreographed by the two-time Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell.
Featured in the musical is Roy Orbison and Bill Dee’s international smash hit song ‘Oh, Pretty Woman’ which inspired one of the most beloved romantic comedy films of all time. PRETTY WOMAN the film (produced by Arnon Milchan - New Regency Productions) was an international smash hit when it was released in 1990.
The show had its world premiere at Chicago’s Oriental Theatre in March 2018 before transferring to Broadway where it ran at the Nederlander Theatre. The German production opened in Hamburg at the Stage Theater an der Elbe in September 2019 to rave reviews, and a US Tour of the show opened in October 2021.

Tickets for the Manchester Opera House dates, which are Tuesday 19 - Saturday 30 March, 2024, will go on general sale at 12noon today, February 14.
