'Pretty impressive' - Mohamed Salah given 'toughest' Liverpool honour by Manchester United rival

Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has named Mohamed Salah as the toughest African player he has faced.

The Liverpool forward has endured a tricky start to the season, although he was back on the scoresheet during last night's 2-1 win Champions League win over Ajax. Salah has been in the Premier League with the Reds since 2017 and has been one of the best players in the world since being under the management of Jurgen Klopp.

Eriksen first joined the Premier League in 2013 and spent seven years with Tottenham Hotspur before making his return to England last season with Brentford. The Denmark international is now at Old Trafford.

The United midfielder said via HITC: "I would have to say Mo Salah. He has been in the Premier League for a few years and also previously at Chelsea. But to play the level he has done, over the last few years, it has been pretty impressive."

After joining loan spells at Fiorentina and Roma, the Egyptian left Stamford Bridge permanently in 2016 and decided he had something to prove when returning to the Premier League a year later.

Salah currently holds the record for the most goals in a 38-game Premier League season when he scored 32 times for Liverpool during his first campaign.
