Prestwick Airport launches summer jobs hunt with roles including baggage handlers available

Prestwick Airport has launched a summer 2023 recruitment drive.

Ahead of the busy holiday season the Ayrshire airport is on the hunt for new staff to fill a series of roles.

The base is looking to fill positions in roles including baggage handlers, ground security operatives and passenger service agents.

Bosses at Glasgow Prestwick Airport are seeking 'hardworking and motivated' people to join their team as they predict another flight boom this year.

The jobs are being advertised as fixed term roles, with the airport announcing they are on a "steady journey of growth," as they launched their latest recruitment drive.

The starting hourly rate for baggage handlers and passenger service agents is advertised at £9.90 an hour whilst security roles start at £10 an hour. All applicants must be 18 or over to apply.

A spokesperson for the airport said: "Glasgow Prestwick Airport are currently recruiting various fixed term roles to start in March.

"We are on a steady journey of growth and many colleagues who started on fixed-term contracts have had long, successful, and diverse careers at our Airport."

The Scottish Government-owned airport currently employs more than 250 people and supporters 4,000 jobs across aerospace sectors.

The airport hosts flights to nine destinations across Europe with daily Ryanair flights to summer hotspots across the continent.
