Preston are set to be without two key names to take on Bristol City with striker Troy Parrott suffering a hamstring injury and defender Jordan Storey suspended.
The visitors head to Ashton Gate on Wednesday looking to stretch their unbeaten run to four matches while the Robins are looking to end a five-game winless run. Preston will be buoyed by victory at Norwich on Saturday but their three points came at a price.
Striker Parrott, who scored his first Championship goal of the season in the 3-2 triumph following his loan move from Tottenham, was forced off immediately after grabbing the late winner. The 20-year-old was introduced at half-time but came off the field with eight minutes to play.
Manager Ryan Lowe provided an update to the Preston official website to reveal he has picked up a hamstring injury that will almost certainly rule him out of the game at City. He said: "I don't know how he is, I don't even know how he did. I don't know whether it was the celebration but overall I'm pleased for Troy.
"I'm going to be disappointed, I'm not really sure what it is, it is his hamstring, but we're going to have to get it assessed and go from there.”
Lowe has also poured doubt on fellow striker Sean Maguire who came off at half-time at Carrow Road. It was his first back-to-back game in over a year following a muscle injury between the calf and Achilles.
The Preston manager admitted he will have to make changes to his side ahead of the game which will be a blow considering their lack of goals this season. Despite sitting eighth in the Championship, Preston have scored just seven and conceded six in 13 league games.
"The team will get changed over the next few weeks and I've told the lads that, we've got to. I asked Seani how he felt and he was stiff on Thursday, was still a little bit stiff on Friday," Lowe added. "At half time, I just felt if he goes out after sitting around for 15 minutes and pulls something or hurts himself I wouldn't be able to live with myself."
Preston will also be without central defender Storey who is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season. The 25-year-old has played in every minute of Championship action this season.
They are also coming into the game having dealt with a sickness bug with "six or seven players" falling ill ahead of the Norwich game including the manager. Lowe said: "We’ve had a bit of a bug going through the camp with six or seven players sick this morning (Saturday).
"We had a bug all through the camp all night. Brad Potts got taken off the bench because he was spewing up on the pitch, Ali McCann spewed up at half time.
"Ben Whiteman's stomach was in turmoil, Freddie Woodman we had to get some vitamins in him, he was sick. We've had lads in there that have played through the bug. Myself and Mike Pollitt have had it as well."
