Even if you've never watched Press Your Luck, you probably know the "no whammy, no whammy" mantra its contestants often utter. The game show is enjoying a new chapter as one of ABC's slate of popular game shows, with all new episodes ready to roll out.
While the original Press Your Luck ran for just three years, it amassed more than 700 episodes airing daily. Between that and reruns, Press Your Luck engrained itself into the culture, which has helped make its current iteration a popular summer treat for TV fans (with some special holiday shows sprinkled in for good measure).
As the game show returns, here’s everything you need to know about Press Your Luck season 6.
Press Your Luck season 6 next episode
The return of Press Your Luck has been pushed to 2025, as ABC has opted to air more simulcasts of Monday Night Football games throughout the fall.
To watch Press Your Luck (or any of these game shows) you must have access to ABC either through a traditional pay-TV provider, a TV antenna or a live TV streaming service (ie Fubo, Hulu with Live TV and YouTube TV). Subscribers to Hulu can also watch episodes of the game show on-demand the next day.
Press Your Luck season 6 host
As she has since Press Your Luck returned to TV in 2019, Elizabeth Banks serves as the host for the game show.
Banks is best known for her acting roles in movies like The Hunger Games franchise, The LEGO Movie, Pitch Perfect, Zack and Miri Make a Porno and Wet Hot American Summer, as well as TV roles in 30 Rock, Modern Family and Mrs. America. Most recently though, she has been doing more work as a director, having helmed Pitch Perfect 2, 2019's Charlie’s Angels and Cocaine Bear.
Press Your Luck gameplay
Press Your Luck tests contestants' trivia knowledge and timing in the hopes of winning up to $1 million. Here is the official breakdown of the game from ABC:
"During each game of Press Your Luck, three contestants compete against each other, answering questions to earn spins on the Big Board. Contestants then use their spins to win cash and prizes while trying to avoid the WHAMMY, which could take all their winnings and leave them with nothing. The winning contestant moves on to the bonus round to face the WHAMMY in a final battle for the chance to win $1 million."
