After weeks of waiting, Chelsea fans are finally seeing their club spring into action in the summer transfer window. Raheem Sterling joined from Manchester City as the first signing in a statement of intent from new owner Todd Boehly.
The rebuild doesn’t look set to end there though, with work still to be done in the defence. Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen both left as free agents, leaving a gap in the backline.
Kalidou Koulibaly has now joined the club to help fill that role. Despite that, Thomas Tuchel is still said to be eyeing another centre-back option or two.

One of those named has been Presnel Kimpembe, who played under the German coach at PSG. With that said, here’s a look at the latest information regarding a move for the Frenchman.
PSG stance
New PSG manager Christophe Galtier has told Kimpembe that he isn't surplus to requirements and could be in the plans for the future, reports CBS journalist Ben Jacobs. The 26-year-old could still leave if the right valuation is met, however the final decision will be down to the player.
Double bid
With a search for new centre-backs underway, football.london understands Chelsea are preparing a bid for two new defenders this week. Those two are PSG's Presnel Kimpembe and Sevilla's Jules Kounde.
PSG talks
Chelsea are interested in a move for Presnel Kimpembe, according to the Athletic. The report claims that the Blues are in contact with the French club to land the 26-year-old.
PSG’s valuation is yet to be met, but Tuchel is eyeing the defender as a key target on the left-side of his defence.
True valuation
While it remains to be seen exactly how much the Ligue 1 champions value the centre-back at, CIES currently has him down as worth between €30-40million (£25-34million).
Juventus battle
While Chelsea hold interest in the defender, they aren’t alone as the Athletic claims that Serie A side Juventus are eyeing a deal. It comes as the Italian team look set to lose Matthijs de Ligt this summer.
Transfer stance
According to GOAL France, Kimpembe is prioritising a stay at PSG over a move away in the transfer window. He currently has two-years remaining on his current contract in the French capital.
The report adds that talks with management over his future are awaited as the club undergoes a plethora of changes on and off the field.
Thomas Tuchel call
In an attempt to persuade his former centre-back, Tuchel has been in contact with him over a switch to London. That’s according to Footmercato, who claim that the conversation explained where he would fit in with first-team plans and the project as a whole.
