A recent Quinnipiac University poll on the presidential race has revealed that there is no clear frontrunner among likely voters nationally. The poll, released on Tuesday, shows that when third-party candidates are included, Donald Trump holds 48% of the support while Harris follows closely behind with 47%. This data closely mirrors the findings of a previous poll by the same source.
In a hypothetical head-to-head matchup between Harris and Trump, the poll indicates a dead heat with both candidates tied at 48%.
According to the Quinnipiac poll, opinions on the two candidates are divided among likely voters. 43% believe Harris would make a great or good president, while 46% think she would be bad or terrible. On the other hand, 47% of respondents view Trump as a great or good potential president, while 47% consider him to be terrible.
The poll also sheds light on the emotional investment of supporters in the election outcome. A significant majority of Harris supporters (74%) and a substantial portion of Trump supporters (60%) express that they would be 'extremely upset' if their preferred candidate were to lose the election.
The Quinnipiac poll was conducted by phone and surveyed 1,728 likely voters between September 19 and 22. The margin of sampling error for the poll is reported to be +/- 2.4 percentage points.
