President Donald Trump has announced that Ukrainian President Volodmyr Zelensky will play a role in the peace negotiations regarding Russia's ongoing war in Ukraine. Trump mentioned the possibility of meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the near future during a press briefing in West Palm Beach on Sunday.
Trump expressed optimism about the progress being made in the peace talks, stating, 'We're moving along. We're trying to get peace with Russia-Ukraine, and we're working very hard on it.' When asked about Zelensky's involvement in the discussions, Trump confirmed that the Ukrainian President would indeed be part of the conversations.
Following a recent phone call with Putin, Trump indicated that negotiations to end the Ukraine war would commence promptly. In furtherance of this goal, high-level delegates from the US administration have been dispatched to Saudi Arabia for discussions with Russian counterparts.

However, concerns have been raised in Kyiv and across Europe regarding Trump's approach towards Putin and suggestions from administration officials about potential concessions Ukraine might have to make for peace. There is apprehension that Ukrainian and European leaders could be marginalized in the negotiation process.
Reporters also questioned Trump about the possibility of European countries imposing bans on US food imports in response to his tariffs. In response, Trump appeared unfazed, stating, 'I don't mind. Let them do it. They're just hurting themselves if they do that. I can't imagine it, but it doesn't matter.'
