President Trump Signs Executive Orders Reshaping Military Management

Oval Office President Donald Trump holds up a signed executive order

During a press briefing aboard Air Force One, President Donald Trump announced that he signed four executive orders on Monday night, focusing on transforming the management and composition of the military. These orders include provisions addressing diversity measures, transgender service members, and troops who were discharged for refusing Covid-19 vaccinations.

Additionally, President Trump signed an executive order to establish a process for developing an 'American Iron Dome,' a missile defense system designed to safeguard the homeland.

Orders address military management, diversity, transgender service members, and Covid-19 vaccination refusals.

The executive orders were signed during President Trump's return flight to Washington from Florida. Earlier reports had indicated that the signing of these orders was anticipated, as per information from two White House officials.

These executive orders coincide with the recent swearing-in of Pete Hegseth as the Secretary of Defense. Hegseth, who has expressed intentions to implement significant cultural changes within the military, including discontinuing DEI practices and removing what he refers to as 'woke' service members, is expected to lead the Pentagon in this new direction.
