During a recent news conference, President Donald Trump addressed questions regarding Elon Musk's role in the new administration. Trump referred to Musk as a patriot and emphasized his importance, stating that Musk could be considered an employee or consultant but ultimately, he is a patriot.
The president's comments came in response to inquiries seeking clarification on Musk's position within the administration. A court filing had previously indicated that Musk lacked decision-making authority as he was not an employee of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

The White House clarified in the filing that Musk is an employee in the White House Office and not a part of the U.S. DOGE Service Temporary Organization. This distinction was highlighted in response to a case brought by Democratic state attorneys general who argued that Musk's actions were unconstitutional due to his lack of Senate confirmation.
Later in the news conference, President Trump referenced instances of potential fraud within the Social Security system, using them as examples to underscore the significance of Musk and the DOGE's role in government operations.
