President Donald Trump has returned to the White House and is already making significant moves. On his first full day back, he met with congressional leaders, made an infrastructure announcement, and demonstrated his authority by firing over 1,000 presidential appointees who he deemed not aligned with his vision.

Some high-profile names that were let go include chef and humanitarian Jose Andres, retired Gen. Mark Milley, former State Department official Brian Hook, and former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms. Trump used his famous catchphrase from his reality TV show, 'The Apprentice,' saying 'YOU'RE FIRED!'

Former President Joe Biden also removed many Trump appointees in his early days in office, including former press secretary Sean Spicer. Trump is set to continue his barrage of announcements, with a promised 'massive announcement' on infrastructure. While details were not disclosed in advance, the White House press secretary hinted that it would send a strong message to the world.

Trump aims to ban Chinese ownership of critical U.S. infrastructure.

During Trump's first administration, 'Infrastructure week' became a running joke as promises of major public works projects often fell short. In contrast, Biden's administration has already overseen the passage of billions of dollars for infrastructure projects over the next decade.

Trump has expressed intentions to ban Chinese companies from owning critical U.S. infrastructure in sectors like energy, technology, and agriculture. He plans to force Chinese owners to divest any holdings that pose a threat to national security.

Aside from his infrastructure focus, Trump also attended a national prayer service at Washington National Cathedral and met with GOP legislative leaders. The Republican-led Congress is working to align on priorities such as tax cuts, immigration policies, and other goals.

On his first day in office, Trump signed several executive orders and memorandums, signaling a shift from his predecessor's policies. These actions included pardoning individuals involved in the Jan. 6 Capitol attack, withdrawing from international agreements, initiating an immigration crackdown, and seeking to end birthright citizenship.

Overall, Trump's return to the White House has been marked by swift and decisive actions, setting the tone for his administration's priorities and agenda moving forward.
