Michael D Higgins has heaped praise upon Jack Kennedy ahead of the jockey's rides at this years Galway Races.
The President of Ireland stopped by to have a quick chat on RTE's coverage of the Galway Races, and when Kennedy's name came up, Michael D's admiration of the jockey was clear to see.
"I met his family the last time I was here before covid, and what a great family they are," President Higgins said.

"And that's what it's all about, people who are interested in letting their family members develop the excellence that he has."
Kennedy has had a wretched time with injuries, and the list of ailments he has suffered over the years is second to none. Two broken fibula in his right leg, a couple of left leg breaks, broken arms, collarbone and shoulder issues complete the list.
And President Higgins praised Kennedy's perseverance and ability to bounce back from injury.
"Coming back from injury. Every time they come back you say isn't it great to see, and it just shows you the deeper commitment to what they're doing."
Later, an Uachtarán revealed that he would be backing Kennedy in the Galway Plate which was subsequently won by Hewick. And in typical Michael D style, The President made a joke about how that revelation "won't shorten any odds anyway!"
