President-elect Donald Trump is set to swiftly implement a series of executive actions on immigration, energy policy, and federal government operations as part of his plan to address numerous campaign policy priorities. Trump has pledged to issue nearly 100 executive orders on his first day in office, with many aimed at reversing or eliminating policies put in place by the Biden administration.
Stephen Miller, Trump's incoming deputy chief of staff for policy, provided a preview of some of the planned actions during a call with senior congressional Republicans. Among the key orders expected to be signed are:
- Immigration Action: Trump will implement a comprehensive suite of immigration actions, including invoking a national emergency at the border to access funding from the Defense Department for administration purposes.
- Drug Cartels: The President-elect plans to designate certain drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations and reinstate the Migrant Protection Protocol policy, commonly known as 'Remain in Mexico.'
- Changes to Federal Government Operations: Trump will sign executive orders to rescind federal government diversity, equity, and inclusion policies, as well as remove gender-related executive orders implemented by President Joe Biden. Additionally, Trump aims to target the Schedule F executive order, which would impact job protections for federal workers.

These executive actions are part of Trump's initial agenda as he assumes office and seeks to fulfill his campaign promises. The implementation of these orders is expected to have significant implications for immigration policy, national security, and federal workforce regulations.
