Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has extended an invitation to President-elect Donald Trump to tour the areas of Los Angeles severely impacted by wildfires. The invitation comes amidst social media criticism from Trump directed at California officials, particularly Governor Gavin Newsom, regarding their management of fire risks and water supply.
During a news conference addressing the wildfires, Mayor Bass confirmed that key members of the incoming administration have been contacted and that Trump has been invited to visit the affected regions.
While refraining from critiquing the city's response to the disaster, Mayor Bass acknowledged that there is always room for improvement in emergency management. She expressed a willingness to evaluate the situation comprehensively once the immediate threat subsides.

Despite the challenges faced, fire officials have reportedly informed Mayor Bass that the magnitude of the disaster would have overwhelmed any additional resources that could have been deployed. The sheer scale of the wildfires would have required an unattainable number of firefighting engines, with estimates suggesting a need for 26,000 engines to adequately address the crisis.
Mayor Bass emphasized the unprecedented nature of the wildfires and the limitations in resource availability, highlighting the immense challenges posed by the ongoing emergency.
