President Biden Under Scrutiny For False Claims Throughout His Life

Joe Biden White house U.S. President Joe Biden at the White House

President Biden has come under fire for making false or embellished claims about his life, with recent scrutiny focusing on his statements regarding being the first person in his family to go to college. During a speech in Wisconsin, Biden claimed this title, contradicting a previous statement where he mentioned his grandfather playing college football.

Moreover, Biden's history of exaggerations extends to other areas, such as falsely claiming to have taught political theory at the University of Pennsylvania. While he held an honorary role at the university, there is little evidence to support his assertion of teaching political theory.

These instances of embellishments are not new for Biden, as he has a track record of making exaggerated statements dating back to his 1987 presidential campaign. During that time, he inaccurately portrayed his academic achievements, later admitting to graduating 76th in a class of 85.

Furthermore, fact-checkers have highlighted several questionable stories told by Biden, including claims about encounters with an Amtrak conductor, witnessing public displays of affection in his youth, and arranging for his uncle to receive a Purple Heart posthumously.

Additionally, Biden's assertion of close relationships with Somali cab drivers in Delaware has been debunked by fact-checkers, who rated the statement as false. Similarly, his recounting of a house fire incident was found to be exaggerated, with reports indicating that the fire was contained to the kitchen.

These instances of embellishments and false claims have raised concerns about Biden's credibility and honesty, with mainstream outlets and fact-checkers scrutinizing his statements. Despite the White House defending Biden's integrity, the president's history of making inaccurate statements continues to draw attention and criticism.
