President Joe Biden is set to visit New Orleans next week, following the recent tragic events that have left the city in mourning. The visit comes in the aftermath of a deadly New Year's rampage where an Army veteran drove a truck into a crowd of revelers, resulting in the loss of fourteen lives. The driver, identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, an American citizen from Texas, was subsequently killed during a confrontation with law enforcement.

The White House has announced that President Biden and the first lady will be in New Orleans on Monday to offer their condolences and support to the families and community members affected by the senseless attack. President Biden has expressed his deep sorrow over the incident and has ordered an expedited investigation into the matter.

In a statement issued on Thursday, President Biden commended the resilience and strength of the people of New Orleans in the face of such tragedy. The visit aims to provide comfort and solidarity to those who have been impacted by the devastating events.

Following his visit to Louisiana, President Biden will travel to California for an event in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The trip underscores the President's commitment to standing with communities in times of need and his dedication to addressing the challenges faced by the nation.
