President Joe Biden is set to host the Texas Rangers at the White House on Thursday to honor their victory in the 2023 World Series, marking the first championship win in the history of the franchise. The Rangers emerged triumphant by defeating the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 5 of the World Series last November.

Recognizing championship sports teams at the White House is a time-honored tradition for both professional and collegiate athletes. This event will provide a rare public appearance by President Biden, who has maintained a low profile since his announcement on July 21 that he would not seek reelection and instead endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to lead the Democratic ticket in the upcoming presidential election.

Following their game against the Houston Astros, the Rangers are scheduled to fly to Washington on Wednesday for the White House visit. Subsequently, they will head to New York to kick off a three-game series against the Yankees on Friday.

This occasion will mark the fourth visit to the White House for Rangers manager Bruce Bochy, who previously visited three times after securing titles with the San Francisco Giants in 2011, 2013, and 2015, all during the tenure of former President Barack Obama.

The Rangers officially announced their visit on Monday, with the White House confirming the event early Tuesday.
