President Biden To Focus On Achievements In DNC Speech

U.S. President Biden visits Israel amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas

President Joe Biden’s speech on the opening night of the Democratic National Convention is anticipated to be a significant moment, although it is not expected to be a farewell speech. Sources close to the president have indicated that a formal farewell address to the American people will likely take place in January, marking the end of his one-term presidency.

This timing mirrors former President Barack Obama's delivery of a farewell address in January 2017 at the conclusion of his two terms. In that memorable speech, Obama praised Biden as 'the scrappy kid from Scranton who became Delaware’s favorite son' and highlighted him as 'the first decision I made as a nominee.' Obama expressed deep appreciation for Biden, referring to him as not only a great Vice President but also as a brother.

Fast forward to the present, Obama is scheduled to speak at the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday night. However, this time he will not be endorsing his former vice president for a second term but rather supporting Vice President Kamala Harris in her new bid for the White House.

According to sources, President Biden will utilize his prime time address to discuss the achievements of the Biden-Harris administration. He is expected to emphasize the importance of Harris defeating Donald Trump in the upcoming November election.
